Chelsea are set to make a surprising summer move for Paris Saint-Germain forward, Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Lavezzi was the scourge of Chelsea this week as he inspired PSG to beat the Blues 3-1 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
The Argentina international has been a star for the Ligue 1 champions since signing for the French side from Napoli in 2012 for €30 million.
He has been linked with a move to England for quite some time and it is thought now that Chelsea will make the all-important move in the summer transfer window as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his attack.
Sky Italia’s inside man Gianluca Di Marzio claims Jose Mourinho has harboured a long-term interest in the winger forged his reputation in an explosive Napoli attack alongside Marek Hamsik and Edinson Cavani.
Di Marzio believes that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has already started some talks with Lavezzi’s representatives. There are set to be more talks coming up between the two parties as Lavezzi’s future looks uncertain.
Lavezzi almost joined Italian side, Inter, on a short-term loan deal in the January transfer window.
Lavezzi has scored seven goals in Ligue 1 this season.
