Rumour: Juan Mata set for Old Trafford medical in next 24 hours, as Chelsea accept £37 million bid

According to recent reports, Juan Mata is all set to become a Manchester United player in the next 24 hours subject to a medical, after Chelsea accepted a club record £37 million bid from their rivals.

Speculation fuelled after the 25-year missed a training session with his Chelsea teammates following Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Stamford Bridge against Stoke City.

The future of the playmaker has been under the scanner throughout the winter, with a host of clubs lining up for the coveted midfielder. A move to Atletico madrid was said to be on, however, tables have now turned in favour of the Manchester club.

The two time Chelsea player of the year has been frustrated with the lack of chances under Jose Mourinho, and has not started a match since his outburst at being substituted against Southampton.
