Manchester United could look to a former player in order to arrest their poor league position at the moment, with Paul Pogba linked with a sensational return to the club, The Express report.
Pogba left the club in 2012 after growing tired of waiting for first team opportunities and wound down his contract to leave for a minuscule £1.3m to join Juventus.
He has since grown to be one of the stars of the Serie A champions side, becoming a key member of a midfield that is littered with stars.
With Arturo Vidal also reportedly a target, Juventus are a side being heavily monitored by leading clubs, having crashed out of the Champions League at the group stage.
Pogba is apparently unsettled with life in Italy and would be open to a move back to England, with that news alerting United to make a surprise swoop for their former charge.
He had been highly rated at Old Trafford, despite Sir Alex Ferguson being reluctant to throw him in the at the deep end, making just the three appearances in the Premier League before departing.
They would however be forced into a climb down in regards to a fee, with Juventus looking for no less than £30m for the man they signed from United for such a minimal amount.
How has Pogba progressed since quitting Old Trafford?
Pogba has enjoyed a fine season at Stadio Delli Alpi, having featured in every game so far, starting 16 of the 19 matches played.
He has scored five times with a shooting accuracy of 63%, while he has created 30 chances for teammates, claiming three assists for his efforts.
No United midfielder has scored as many goals as Pogba, while they trail him heavily in the creation department as well, having relied on Wayne Rooney to be the creative and goalscoring force this season.
