Barcelona teenager Guille Fernandez has reportedly spurned interest from Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund to extend his stay aat the Camp Nou. The 16-year-old has inked a three-year deal with the club.

Fernandez is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects to have emerged from Barca's famed La Masia academy. SPORT's Toni Juanmarti (via Barca Universal) reported interest from City, Bayern and BvB, who were all keen to snap up the talented teenager.

However, Fernandez apparently refused lucrative financial offers from all three clubs to commit his next three years to Barca. In fact, considering his desire to turn up for the Blaugrana, his family didn't even sit down for talks with the three aforementioned clubs.

The 16-year-old is a part of new boss Hansi Flick's first-team pre-season, having trained extensively with Barca Atleti to prepare himself for the same. The La Masia graduate debuted for Rafael Marquez's team at the age of 15, in March earlier this year.

A good showing in pre-season could fast-track him to the first team as Flick looks to return the club back to its heyday after a difficult trophyles 2023-24 campaign that ended with previous boss Xavi's departure.

Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal played a key role as Spain won Euro 2024 by beating England 2-1 in the Berlin final on Sunday (July 14). Although the 17-year-old didn't score, he laid out the assist for Nico Williams' opener.

Gareth Southgate's side equalised through substitute Cole Palmer in the 73rd minute. But Lamal and Co. had the last laugh as substitute Mikel Oyarzabal bagged an 86th-minute winner to seal La Roja's record fourth European Championship.

During the triumphant continental campaign, Yamal became the youngest Euro winner and the youngest to provide an assist and score in the tournament. He's also the youngest to feature in a major tournament semi-final or final, breaking the previous record of a 17-year-old Pele set for Brazil at the 1958 FIFA World Cup.
