Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are all on red alert after Isaac Cuenca revealed that he wishes to quit Barcelona this summer after becoming tired of waiting for first team opportunities at Camp Nou.
Cuenca had been making a name for himself under Pep Guardiola before the mercurial manager decided to step down from his post at the Catalan club and a serious knee injury left the La Masia graduate out of action for the best part of a year.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool were keen on bringing Cuenca to England in January and they have now been joined by Spurs as interested parties after the attacker suggested that his future may lay away from Barcelona, having failed to make a single appearance despite recovering from his knee injury in October.
It appears that Barcelona are building for their future without Cuenca, as they already have Lionel Messi, Neymar, Alexis Sanchez, Pedro and Cristian Tello ahead of him in the pecking order for attacking spaces and the 23-year-old has become surplus to requirements.
Cuenca told reporters, “I still have one year of contract left, but I do not know if I will stay.
“What I want is to play more.”
