Rumour: Liverpool close in on Barcelona star Cristian Tello on a season long loan deal

Liverpool have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of young sensation Cristian Tello, as they look to close a season long loan deal in January.

The Barcelona winger has emerged as one of the most sought after prospects in recent months. The midfielder has seen very little football this season, starting only two games in the La Liga. The young star conceded he will look to new pastures if he does not get more chances in the first team.

Brendon Rodgers has been keeping tabs on the 22-year old as he looks to delve into the market to recruit a winger, after a disappointing start to the campaign for on-loan wide man Victor Moses. With injuries hampering the squad, the manager is desperate to invest in the winter, as he looks to mount a serious title challenge in the latter half of the season.

A loan deal for the Spanish star looks imminent, and will hope to lure him to a permanent deal in the summer.
