Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers have turned a keen eye towards Norwich City keeper and England international, John Ruddy, according to reports.
If reports are to be believed, the Merseyside club is thought to be keen on bringing the Canaries keeper to Anfield and are ready to shelve out £8million to procure his services. The 28-year old Ruddy missed out on the World Cup earlier this year as relegation with Norwich hurt his international prospects.
Ruddy might as well put his international career back on track this winter as a move to Liverpool is sure to give a huge boost to being re-considered for international call-ups by Roy Hodgson.
Liverpool have been unsure at the back this season and all the instability has been coming right from the back as their star signing of last summer, Simon Mignolet has fluttered more often than not. The Belgian moved to Anfield in the summer of 2013 from Sunderland for a fee of initial £9million and quickly established himself as the number one as Pepe Reina was quickly shifted to Napoli on a loan deal.
After a sterling campaign last season, many Reds faithful had thought Mignolet to be a lock at the back for years to come. However, poor form and mistakes have led to the Belgian international being sensationally dropped last weekend in their match against perennial rivals Manchester United.
Now, Rodgers is thought to be considering a move to bring in even more competition for the Belgian and make him prove his worth with an enquiry set to be made at Carrow Road.
