Liverpool are looking into signing Newcastle’s unwanted winger Hatem Ben Arfa, according to the Metro.
The fiery winger has suffered from injury problems this season and has fallen out with manager Alan Pardew, who has forced him to train separate from the rest of the first-team squad after a couple of bust-ups.
The row does not seem to be calming down just yet so the attacker’s future at the north east club could be over by the end of the season.
And should he be sold, Liverpool are thought to be one of the many clubs interested in signing the Frenchman.
Apparently, Brendan Rodgers will offer around £6 million to tempt Newcastle into doing business, with the Anfield club hopeful a deal can be agreed over the summer. Rodgers has led his thin squad to top of the Premier League with just a couple of games remaining and is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of another title challenge next season.
Ben Arfa was linked with the Reds last summer, but he signalled his intention to sign a new contract with Newcastle, before a row broke out with Pardew over his behaviour.
He has always suffered problems with his fitness due to niggling injuries and that will surely come into conversation should Liverpool move for the tricky winger.
