Liverpool are interested in bringing Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas to Anfield. Navas plays for Levante UD in La Liga, and in this season has conceded only 33 goals in 30 matches and kept 13 clean sheets (all competitions).
Navas has a £8 million release clause and has been capped 51 times by the National team. Though Liverpool have Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina on their books, he is expected to leave this summer following the end of his loan spell at SSC Napoli.
Navas has a contract with the Spanish club till 2015, but the goalkeeper wants his future sorted out before the 2014 FIFA World Cup. “We have the best keeper in the league right now and that is a privilege for us. Other clubs know the situation.” said Levante president Quico Catalan.”: Liverpool will face stiff competition from rivals Everton and AC Milan to sign the goalkeeper.
Navas joined Levante on loan from Albacete in 2011. In 2012, he signed permanently for the club.
