Liverpool have emerged as favourites to sign highly-rated Fiorentina midfielder Juan Guillermo Cuadrado in the summer, according to reports in the Daily Star.
The Colombian has attracted interest from a number of European heavyweights, following his impressive performances for Vincenzo Montella’s side this season, including three Premier League outfits.
Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have been linked with a move for Cuadrado in recent weeks, after reports that Red Devils boss David Moyes watched the 25-year-old in action.
However, Premier League leaders Liverpool have been tipped to complete the signing at the end of the season, with Kop chief Brendan Rodgers keen to add to his squad.
Valued around the £20 million mark, Cuadrado’s transfer could prove to be complicated as he is co-owned by Fiorentina and his former club, fellow Italian side Udinese.
Both clubs would have to sanction the deal before any move could be completed, but with the midfielder riding a crest of popularity ahead of this summer’s World Cup, where he has been tipped to star with his national side, they could be tempted to cash in while his stock his high.
Meanwhile, although Liverpool are keen on Cuadrado, who can operate on either flank, if they secure a maiden Premier League title the calibre of their transfer targets are liable to change, along with their budget.
