Reports suggest that Manchester City defender Micah Richards is set for a summer move to title rivals Liverpool.
Richards has barely featured for the Citizens this season, but Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be a big fan of the right back and The Metro believe that he is readying a summer bid.
Richards has made just two Premier League appearances, having featured seven times in the league last season in what has been an injury hit 18 months for the right back.
He looks to have little future at the Etihad, having been unable to dislodge regular right back Pablo Zabaleta even when fit, prompting interest from Liverpool.
Manchester City had reportedly attempted to open negotiations with Richards over a new deal at the club, but he is believed to have rebuffed the offer and told them of his intention to leave, with Newcastle also reportedly interested.
The Metro believe the City are set to make around £7 million from selling the 25-year-old – a surprisingly large sum given his squad status and injury problems.
A move to Liverpool would see him compete with Glen Johnson for the right back berth at Anfield. Johnson is out of contract at the end of next season, but has seen the club stall over any offer of a new deal due to his current high wages.
Of his seven headed duels this season, Richards has won six.
