Liverpool have opened talks with the highly-rated Thorgan Hazard, who is Chelsea’s star man Eden Hazard’s younger brother.
According to the Metro, the the 21-year-old is being chased by a number of clubs but Liverpool have begun talks with Chelsea regarding the possibility of bringing the Belgian talent to the club.
Thorgan Hazard signed shortly after his brother did in 2012, but he has been loaned out twice to Belgian side Zulte Waregem where he has excelled. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was watching the young talent last night as he played for the Belgian outfit.
He was recently named Player of the Year for his efforts at Zulte Waregem, however, his chances of breaking into the first-team at Chelsea seem bleak as Mourinho continues to reinforce his squad with more experienced individuals.
Thorgan Hazard missed out on the Belgium World Cup squad, which was announced earlier this week. While after the World Cup announcement, fans questioned whether Hazard was better than Man United’s Adan Januzaj.
Thorgan Hazard is valued at roughly £6 million and can play in roles similar to his brother. Hazard’s father, Thierry, said his son will look at offers and consider them in his own time.
Thierry Hazard said: “We will quietly look at the all offers and see which one Thorgan is most comfortable with”
Thorgan’s brother, Eden, has excelled at Chelsea since signing just under two years ago. The Belgian star has been in scintillating form this season for the Blues and there are hopes his brother can follow in his footsteps.
Thorgan Hazard has a better Performance Score than Adan Januzaj per 90 this season.
