Liverpool have been encouraged to renew their interest in Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno.
The Spaniard has been linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool, as well as others, and could leave for around £15 million.
He has been a target of Liverpool’s for the majority of the season as Brendan Rodgers is looking to improve his defence. Currently, his first-choice left-back is Jon Flanagan after the unsuccessful loan deal of Aly Cissokho.
For all of Flanagan’s effort and endeavour, he is lacking the star quality that Liverpool need to attract to fight for honours across the board.
Sevilla’s president, Pepe Castro, has made comments on Moreno’s future which has alerted Liverpool to his availability.
“Last December we rejected an important offer from a Premier League side for Alberto Moreno. There are many clubs tracking him weekly,” he said to Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
“In December we understood that it was not the right moment to sell him. But if we received a very good offer for him we will consider his exit.”
“I believe that he is young and he is going to have a very successful career. And I hope he stays at Sevilla but if we received an amazing offer he will leave.”
