Liverpool have made Hoffenheim’s superb attacking midfielder, Roberto Firmino, their top summer transfer target, according to the Metro.
The Brazilian has been in sparkling form for the German club this season and is consistently one of the team’s top performers. His displays have brought attention from around Europe and Liverpool could be one of many teams embroiled in a bidding war for the talented 22-year-old.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has already admitted that he’s expecting a busy summer for the Reds, especially if they qualify for next season’s Champions League.
They currently sit in fourth place, six points clear after a stonking 4-3 win over Swansea City on Sunday and are looking up for a possible title challenge.
Firmino’s performances have lit the Bundesliga up, convincing Rodgers that he needs to sign him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
It is thought he could be available for around £12 million and he may be willing to make the move to England to give himself a better chance of being picked for Brazil on a more regular basis.
Firmino has created 38 chances for Hoffenheim this season, more than any other player at the club.
