Current Premier League table toppers, Manchester City are keen to rope in FC Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala, reports Sports Direct News.
Reports from Portuguese media suggest that City would place a £31 million bid for the French defender, who have been City’s primary target since the beginning of January transfer window.
But, City are not the only club who were interested. Local rivals Manchester United and Spanish giants Barcelona too were keeping an eye on the defender.
FC Porto have kept a £41 million release clause in Eliaquim Mangala’s contract and are reluctant to negotiate for the defender. But the title contenders hope that their current offer, with the promise of future add-ons, would be enough to tempt Porto to release the 22-year-old defender.
