According to the Guardian, Manchester City are rumoured to have offered Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna a 3-year contract, whose deal at the Emirates expires at the end of the season.
The Citizens are trying to capitalise on the current contract negotiation logjam between the full back and the Gunners, which has been on for quite some time now.
Although a 2-year contract extension is on the table from Arsenal, Sagna is adamant on a three year deal with a significant increment to his £50,000-a-week salary.
Time is running out for the North London outfit to alter their policy of offering only a one year deal to players above 30 years, as giants like Galatasaray, AS Monaco, Liverpool and Inter Milan closely track the Frenchman.
The 31-year could become the 5th high profile player after the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy to jump ship to the Etihad from Arsenal in recent times.
