Rumour: Manchester City set to launch £60 million bid for Luis Suarez

Suarez is on the wanted list of several clubs

Manchester City are looking to make a sensational bid for Liverpool forward Luis Suarez according to Sports Direct.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini is planning for the ultimate striking partnership as he looks to link the Uruguay international with Sergio Aguero. A combination like that is sure to terrify any defence in the world.

The deal is likely to involve player plus cash with £20 million rated striker Edin Dzeko going the other way with £40 million in cash.

City have spent big in the summer bringing two forwards in Negredo and Jovetic. While the Spaniard has done well linking with Aguero, Jovetic has barely had a look in the first team. Dzeko has also been sidelined thanks to the working partnership between Aguero and Negredo.

Brendan Rodgers might be tempted with Dzeko due to his technical ability to make an impact but he will be looking to do everything in his power to keep Suarez as the Kop look to achieve a top four finish this year.

Luis Suarez has been the light bearer for Liverpool netting 14 goals in ten Premier League fixtures.
