Manchester City are reportedly interested in bringing Real Madrid star Pepe, to the Etihad in a bid to solve their crisis in defense.
The frailties at the back for Manchester City were there for all to see during the absence of club captain and talisman Vincent Kompany due to injury. The manager, Manuel Pellegrini seems unconvinced by the likes of Joleon Lescott, Matija Nastasic, and summer recruit Martin Demichelis.
Pepe, who has been Real Madrid’s mainstay in defense for sometime now, was heavily linked with a move to Manchester in the summer. Manchester City reportedly made several failed attempts to land the £20 million-rated man.
As Manchester City look to vie for top honours this season, a recognized and accomplished center back to partner Vincent Kompany will be the prime agenda this winter.
However, Real Madrid will be reluctant to sell their star who is into his seventh season at the club and has formed a solid partnership with fellow center back Sergio Ramos.
