Manchester United’s forgotten man Ashley Young seems set to move for pastures new with the former England international a target for Swansea City and Newcastle United, according to the Daily Mail.
The former Watford and Aston Villa man has been a peripheral figure at Old Trafford over the last 18 months, with the winger plagued by injuries and a loss of form.
Young lost his spot in the team under Sir Alex Ferguson and that continued into the David Moyes regime. After such a promising Euro 2012 showing, Young has failed to build on it and he seems set to be offloaded this summer by new manager Louis van Gaal.
The Dutchman is not a big fan of the 28-year-old and is willing to offload him for a small sum in-order to clear the wage bill. Van Gaal is keen to free up some money, as well as wages, in-order to lure targets such as Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba.
Young cost Manchester United £17 million and despite initially impressing at the Theatre of Dreams, he has struggled to make an impression in-front of the home faithful.
Swansea City and Newcastle are both keeping tabs on the pacey winger.
