Rumour: Manchester United eye relentless box-to-box midfielder, Ever Banega

Manchester United boss David Moyes is keen on a move for Valencia midfielder Ever Banega and is willing to offer the Spanish side Javier Hernandez as part of the deal, according to the Metro. Moyes is keen to add to his squad following a disappointing start to his reign at Old Trafford and has identified Argentine Banega as one of his targets.

Banega has played 16 Liga games for Valencia this season, scoring once and assisting twice. The 25-year-old playmaker may not move to Old Trafford until the summer, but Moyes is reported to have sounded out him out over a move to the club.

Manchester United are prepared to pay £12.5 million for Banega, but should that bid fail then they may be prepared to offer Hernandez as part of the deal.

The Mexican has been United’s fourth-choice striker under Moyes, unable to get a run in the side even with injuries to Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie due to the goalscoring form of Danny Welbeck.

With Valencia in need of a striker, Hernandez could be used as a makeweight in order for United to seal a deal for 24-cap international Banega.
