Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is reportedly set to sign a contract extension. The 22-year-old's current deal expires at the end of the season.

Diallo made his first-team debut for the Red Devils in the 2020-21 season and has nine goals and as many assists in 49 games across competitions. That includes six goals and seven assists in 28 games across competitions this season.

Three of those goals and six assists have come in 18 games in the Premier League, where United are 13th after 20 games, trailing leaders Liverpool (46) by 23 points, having played a game more.

With Diallo becoming a key player for the Red Devils this season, the player - as per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano - is set to put pen to paper on a deal till 2030. Reportedly, Diallo has had offers from two unnamed 'top' clubs but had his heart set on staying with the Red Devils. He's now set to sign his new deal on Thursday.

The Red Devils are coming off a 2-2 Premier League draw at leaders Liverpool at the weekend in a game where both teams had chances to take home all three points. Diallo was one of the scorers at Anfield as a share of the spoils ensued.

Manchester United have had a hugely underwhelming season, which saw the exit of head coach Erik ten Hag, who was replaced in November by Ruben Amorim. However, results haven't been quite encouraging under the former Sporting CP boss, but the Anfield draw could be a result to build from.

The Reds opened the scoring after the break but found themselves trailing 20 minutes from time. Nevertheless, a late Amad Diallo equaliser meant that they snatched a share of the spoils.

United are next in action in the FA Cup when they travel to Arsenal on Sunday (January 12) for their opener. Five days later, they host Southampton in the Premier League.

Amorim's side are already out of the EFL Cup but are unbeaten in six games in Europe, winning three. Their next continental matchup is against Scottish giants Rangers at Old Trafford on January 23.
