Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is reportedly close to returning to action after resuming full training. The 25-year-old hasn't played since the 3-0 Premier League defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in September.
Since that game - where he had come on as a second-half substitute - Mount has missed seven matches across competitions, having left the Spurs outing following a collision with Radu Dragushin.
As per Daily Mail, Mount trained with his teammates at Carrington on Monday and could be available to play under new boss Ruben Amorim after the November international break.
The former Chelsea man has been beset by injuries since arriving from Stamford Bridge last summer, having made only 25 appearances across competitions. He missed four months of action last season due to a calf injury.
Despite Mount's promising injury update, United will have to wait for Harry Maguire, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw and summer signing Leny Yoro to return from their injury layoffs.
During Mount's latest injury-enforced absence, boss Erik ten Hag was sacked, with Ruud van Nistelrooy managing the side before Amorim assumes charge on Novemebr 11. The two-time Primeira Liga-winning boss with Sporting CP is one of the game's brightest young managerial talents in the game.
Ruben Amorim explains why he chose Manchester United
Since the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013, Ruben Amorim has become Manchester United's sixth different permanent manager. The former Portugal international explained that he had other offers as well but chose United.
Amorim, 39, is coming off a Primeira Liga title last season. He's set to manage Sporting CP for two more games - Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League and Braga in the Primeira Liga.
"I've had other opportunities - the president and (director of football) Hugo Viana can confirm this. It's not the first or the second time that I have been requested by another team, and I don't want another team," he said (via the BBC).
"After Sporting, I wanted that one, Manchester, and I want that context because that context allows me to do things my way and the club believes me that way. There's a time when I have to take a step forward in my career. That's what happened. It was harder for me than to any Sporting fan, believe me, but I had to do this."
Amorim's first match as Manchester United boss is set to be the Premier League visit to Ipswich Town on November 24.
