The agent of Manchester United target Carlos Mane has welcomed speculation linking his client with a move to the Premier League, describing playing in the Premier League as the 19 year old’s “ultimate goal.”
The Express believe that United are leading a clutch of Premier League clubs in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon’s Mane, who is also said to be interesting Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool.
The right winger has burst on to the scene this season, having featured only for Sporting’s reserve side prior to this campaign. The Portuguese youth international started the season playing for Sporting’s second string, but has made eight appearances for the senior side –prompting the offer of a long term deal – and is already attracting Premier League interest.
“Carlos is concentrating on maintaining a place in the Sporting first team,” said his agent, Dan Law.
“2014 has started really well for him, and he has scored three goals so far, but we should not forget he has yet to make more than ten first-team appearances.
“He also enjoys a long-term contract at Sporting, they value him highly and so it is premature to be talking of a move,” continued Law.
“That said, I am aware of a number of clubs with real interest and who are keeping tabs on him, and it has to be said that whilst a move to the Premier League is the ultimate goal for Carlos at some point in the future – just one reason being that he has family in the UK already – some Bundesliga and Serie A clubs might appear to be more advanced in their interest at this stage.”
Neither Ashley Young nor Nani have registered a single assist this season, whilst Juan Mata has caught both players in terms of chances created despite only signing for the club in January.
