Benfica’s central attacking midfielder Nicolas Gaitan could make a potential move to Old Trafford in a swap deal for Manchester United’s discard Bebe.
The Argentine has had an impressive season with Benfica where he was instrumental in helping his club to not only win the domestic treble, but also the finals of the Europa League in 2013-14.
It is rumored that Manchester United’s newly appointed manager Louis Van Gaal is pretty impressed with Gaitan and currently is heading the race in signing the midfielder.
Meanwhile Bebe, who has fell out of contention with the Red Devils is currently on Van Gaal’s list of player who can be swapped with Benfica in order to bring Gaitan to Old Trafford.
However it is very much unlikely that the Portuguese giants would let go of their star player so cheaply. Thus, Manchester United should be ready to dish out a large sum of money.
Bebe was on loan to Pacos de Ferreira last season where he did well; scoring 12 goals in 27 matches as opposed to Manchester United where he has scored only twice in seven appearances. Hence it will be a potential sweetener not only for the Red Devils, but also for the Portuguese Bebe who might get to see first team football at a formidable club.
