Manchester United and West Ham United are reportedly in the race to sign Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui. The 26-year-old is out of contract at the Allianz Arena in 2026 but seems to have played his last for the club.
Mazraoui contributed four assists in 29 games across competitions last season. Not a regular starter, his fortunes are unlikely to change anytime soon. As per Sky Deutschland's Florian Plettenberg, the defender has been told that he's surplus to requirements.
Bayern are apparently ready to listen to offers for the player, with both United and West Ham having held talks with Mazraoui's entourge. Although the Bavarians want €20-25 million, Plettenberg reckons €15-20 million appears more realistic.
The 26-year-old is reportedly keen to play in the Premier League, keeping both United and West Ham interested.
Both United and West Ham finished outside the top-seven last season, with United finishing a lowly eighth, their worst finish in the Premier League era, while the Hammers finished ninth.
A look at Manchester United's 2024-25 pre-season
Manchester United may have finished the last season in eighth place but ended it on a high by beating holders Manchester City in the FA Cup final. It marked their second straight season with silverware, having won the EFL Cup the previous campaign.
The Red Devils have commenced their preparations for the new campaign by taking on Rosenborg at home in their pre-season opener, losing 1-0 away on July 15.
Erik ten Hag's side won 2-0 at Rangers on July 20 before they move to the United States for the rest of their pre-season. Next up, they take on Premier League rivals Arsenal on July 27 in Los Angeles before locking horns with La Liga side Real Betis four days later in San Diego.
The Red Devils conclude their pre-season against arch-rivals Liverpool in South Carolina on August 3. Ten Hag's side open their new season against City in the FA Community Shield seven days later before starting their Premier League campaign against Fulham at home on August 16.
