Manchester United defender Marnick Vermijl is hoping for more first-team opportunities at the club otherwise he will leave, while he is also waiting to hear the fate of his manager, David Moyes.
The 22-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Dutch club NEC and his agent Tonny Dullers says the player is not interested in a loan move next season and either wants to make an impression at United or, with clubs such as Anderlecht, Genk and Ajax said to be interested.
He told Belgium media: “Man United is happy with his progress. They want to loan him to a better team next season, but Marnick isn’t keen on it.
“He wants to be promoted to the first team squad or a transfer. He still has a contract until 2015, but a lot depends on (Manchester United manager David) Moyes’ future.
“If he stays, he’ll probably let Marnick go, as he didn’t oppose a loan. But if he is sacked, then maybe Marnick still has a future at Man United.”
Regarding potential clubs, Dullers added: “I’ve a meeting with Genk’s general manager Dirk Degraen next week and I’ll meet the board of Anderlecht later on. Also Ajax and a few other Premier League teams made an enquiry.
“England is still our favourite destination, but the player’s also open to a move to Belgium or Holland.”
