Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti reportedly had a conversation with striker Kylian Mbappe after the Frenchman found himself in a controversy involving a rape incident in the hotel he was residing during a recent visit to Sweden.
The 25-year-old striker - who was not on international duty this fortnight - visited Stockholm with a group of friends for two days. As per local media reports (via the Economic Times), Mbappe is the subject of a rape investigation and that a legal complaint has been filed against him.
As per SPORT (via Managing Madrid), Ancelotti has got in touch with Mbappe to enquire about his state of mind. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner apparently told his boss that he's well and is entirely focused on Madrid's upcoming games and that legal matters would be handled by his lawyer.
Mbappe wasn't included in France's UEFA Nations League squad for their wins over Israel (4-1) and Belgium (2-1), as the striker had suffered a muscle injury while on club duty in September.
Los Blancos released a statement about Mbappe's injury status (via beIN Sports) before France beat Belgium on Tuesday:
"Kylian Mbappe continues to work on his individual fitness plan. The forward is working on his own as he tries to recover fully from the discomfort in the biceps femoris of his left leg.
"He trained on his own in the gym and out on the pitch at Real Madrid City, under the guidance of Antonio Pintus, who is in charge of the club's physical preparation."
Mbappe arrived at Los Blancos this summer on a free transfer after a prolific seven-season spell at Paris Saint-Germain, scoring a club record 256 goals.
How has Kylian Mbappe fared for Real Madrid?
Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe has had a decent start to life at his new club. In 11 games across competitions, the Frenchman has registered seven goals and one assist.
Five of those goals and the lone assist have come in eight outings in La Liga, where Carlo Ancelotti's holders trail leaders Barcelona (24) by three points as club football resumes this weekend.
Mbappe has also scored once in two outings in the UEFA Champions League, where Los Blancos beat VfB Stuttgart 3-1 at home in their opener before losing 1-0 at LOSC Lille on matchday two.
The Frenchman scored on his competitive Los Blancos debut in the UEFA Super Cup in August as the Spanish giants beat Atalanta 2-0 to win the competition.
