Iker Casillas has been the mainstay in the Real Madrid goal for over a decade. However, the Spaniard suffered a hand injury, which kept him out of action for twelve weeks, and subsequently lost his spot to Diego Lopez, who was signed from Sevilla as cover.

The Spaniard, who captains his national side, has seen limited action under new boss Carlo Ancelotti, who looks to prefer Diego Lopez as his first choice goal-keeper. The 32-year old has not started a single game in the La Liga this season, with most of his appearances coming in the UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey.

Most of the top European clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping close tabs on the developments at the Bernebeu, as they look to swoop for Casillas, who has widely been regarded as the best-keeper of his generation.

With the World Cup around the corner, he is all set to make the tough decision with regards to his future. Arsene Wenger has been known to be a keen admirer of the Real Madrid star, and will look to bring him to the Emirates if the Spanish star decides to leave the Bernebeu in a bid to play more first team football.
