Real Madrid are plotting a potential summer clear out of superfluous playing staff in order to fund their summer spending according to reports.
Real spent a hefty chunk of money last season in order to purchase the likes of Gareth Bale and Asier Illaramendi from Tottenham Hotspur and Real Sociedad respectively and Carlo Ancelotti has been told funds will need to be raised and space cleared if Real are to make another flurry of transfers.
Some big names are apparently at risk in their Real Madrid careers, with Ancelotti keen on bringing a striker and a goalkeeper into the club, while other areas may be strengthened as well.
Iker Casillas is one big name who is facing the chop after falling out of favour over the past 12 months, firstly to Jose Mourinho, before Ancelotti decided to stick with Diego Lopez, and the club legend could be offloaded in the summer to make room for another ‘keeper of world class.
Arsenal are reportedly keeping their eye on developments with Casillas, with Wojciech Szczesny yet to make himself an indispensable member of the team, while Manchester City have been rumoured to be keen on the Spanish captain.
Sami Khedira and Angel Di Maria are the other big names with their Bernabeu careers on the line, with Manchester United holding a firm interest in both, having made a last ditch deadline day bid for Khedira in the summer.
They are thought to be intending to revive their interest again in the summer, once the German has recovered from a long-standing knee injury, while a move for Di Maria is also thought to interest Moyes in order to fix the glaring inadequacies on his flanks.
Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and frankly any team in the top half of the Premier League have also been a mooted destination for the Argentinian winger, who will not be short on options should Real officially make him available for transfer.
