Following the departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid, his brother Ethan has also left Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer. The departure of the 17-year-old central midfielder makes it the first time in seven years that the Parisians will be without a member of the Mbappe family on their books.
Taking to social media after his departure from the Ligue 1 giants, Ethan said:
"With the soul of a child and a supporter from birth, I discovered you with eyes full of dreams. That was nearly seven years ago, and I had no idea that we would be living such an adventure together. It was the start of seven years of red and blue in my daily life and in my heart."
"Seven years of encounters that have left an indelible mark on me. Seven years of priceless human and sporting memories. From the carefree days of childhood to my first steps as a professional, you laid the best foundations for the man and player I aspire to become. For everything you've given me, for all the wonderful people you've put in my path and for the way you've helped me grow, on behalf of my sincere love for you, I say thank you and goodbye @psg"
Ethan is not expected to follow his brother to Real Madrid this summer but has been linked with a move to PSG's Ligue 1 rivals Lille. He will be keen to become as famous as his brother and potentially have the crowd at the Santiago Bernabeu serenade himself and Kylian Mbappe soon.
What Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe said about playing alongside his brother at PSG?
Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe described playing alongside his brother at PSG as 'special'. The Mbappe brothers played together for the first time in December during a 3-1 over Metz in Ligue 1.
The game was played on the 2018 FIFA World Cup-winning forward's birthday, and he celebrated it by bagging a brace and playing alongside his younger brother on his debut. Speaking to PSG TV after the game, Kylian said:
“I didn’t think I was going to experience a special day like that, and I will really remember this match.”
“Ethan’s entry is the most important thing for me, although winning and scoring is always special. It’s a beautiful day!”
Both brothers have departed Paris this summer with widely different impacts for the Parisians. Kylian Mbappe left as a club legend after scoring 256 times and assisting 108 in 308 games before joining Real Madrid this summer while Ethan managed five appearances and no goals.
