Real Madrid are apparently willing to offer Chelsea’s Ashley Cole an £8 million two-year deal if the England player agrees to join them this summer, reports Mirror.
“Ashley is a world class player and Madrid have wanted to sign him for some time,” said an insider from Real Madrid while talking to The Sun. “It is now the perfect opportunity as he is free.”
Cole will be a free-agent at the end of this season, and is yet to be offered a new contract. Cole is also said to be very interested in working with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti with whom he has already worked with while the Italian was in charge of Chelsea between 2009 and 2011.
However, it would be interesting to see how Ancelotti accommodates Cole as Real Madrid already have Spaniards Alvaro Arbeloa and Daniel Carvajal in their roster.
Cole has been more of a second fiddle to Cesar Azpilicueta, and has started just 12 Premier League matches this season.
