According to Sunday Mirror, European Champions Bayern Munich has defeated the lights of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City in the race for signing Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski, whose contract with Dortmund expires in the summer, will sign a pre-contractual deal with Bayern in January which will be worth £10million with a weekly wage of £130,000.
The Polish star was subjected to interest from a number of English clubs with Arsenal even making a £25m which was rejected by Dortmund. Jose Mourinho was another one who was in pursuit of Lewandowski but later admitted his defeat and said that the player’s book was already written.
Bayern was keen on Lewandowski throughout the summer but Dortmund was unwilling to let the player leave to a rival team. The deal will come as a big blow for Dortmund as they will be losing the player on a free transfer.
