As per Dail Star’s report, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to rope in Wolfsburg’s midfielder, Luiz Gustavo in January.
Earlier in this season, the Brazilian rejected Arsenal‘s offer and instead joined Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
After choosing Wolfsburg over the Gunners, the midfielder experienced a shaky start to his term. But now he has successfully cemented his place in the starting 11 of the club.
Andre Villas-Boas hopes to convince Gustavo to make a switch in January with the promise of maximum game-time ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
The Spurs manager wants to strengthen his midfield. His midfield has so far failed to perform as per expectation.
Wolfsburg sporting director, Klaus Allofs admitted that he could be sold in January.
“Even at VfL [Wolfsburg] nobody is unsellable. For me it is important that we show [players] that we are willing to negotiate if an offer is made that is reasonable in a sporting sense and also makes good business sense for VfL”, he said.
