According to the Daily Mirror, English club Tottenham is hoping to secure the services of Fiorentina forward Giuseppe Rossi for a fee of £30million in January.
Tottenham, who bought in a string of players last summer from the transfer money of Gareth Bale, has been struggling in the season to find goals and the report suggests that Rossi would be the answer for the problem.
The London side will be facing a scarcity of strikers very soon, with Roberto Soldado failing to find form in EPL, Jermaine Defoe set to leave for MLS and Emmanuel Adebayor still out of favor. And the Spurs technical director Franco Baldini revealed that there will be transfer deals in the winter irrespective of whose managing the club.
Rossi, a former Manchester United star, has been in the Tottenham radar since his Villarreal days and is in his prime fitness in Serie A. His current contract with Fiorentina runs till 2017 but the release clause is believed to be around £30million.
