France Football reports that Real Madrid’s Sporting director Zinedine Zidane is keen to lure the 21-year-old Frenchman to the Los Blancos.
Paul Pogba, currently plying his trade with Serie A league leaders Juventus, has been on Monaco’s and French mega-money side Paris Saint-Germain’s radar. Les Parisiens will be hoping that their connection with Mino Raiola, agent for Pogba and PSG’s Ibrahimovic will be enough to prise the Frenchman away from his Italian club.
However, the French publication also reported that Zidane had made a direct phone call to Pogba which may shift things in Madrid’s favour.
Nonetheless, any chances of a move for the French midfielder will rely on clubs being able to meet the player’s price tag of €70m.
A move to Madrid would be beneficial to Carlo Ancelotti’s side as the Madrid boss sees Pogba as a good fit in Real’s midfield alongside Asier Illaramendi. Furthermore the player would seem an ideal replacement for ageing midfield lynchpin Xabi Alonso.
