Jose Mourinho is apparently furious at Bastian Schweinsteiger for rejecting a free transfer to Sporting Lisbon, reports Daily Star. The former Bayern Munich star has vowed not to play for another club in Europe, and is keen on staying at Manchester United.
Earlier, Portuguese website Record claimed Sporting Lisbon contacted Schweinsteiger’s representatives to replace Adrien Silva, but the German midfielder immediately rejected a move to Portugal.
Jose Mourinho has made it quite clear that Schweinsteiger won’t play a significant role at Manchester United this season, and should look for a transfer away from the Premier League club. The Portuguese manager even left him out of the pre-season training and asked him to train with the U-23s.

Schweinsteiger, however, is equally keen on staying at the club despite not being in the matchday squad for any of the matches so far this season. The 32-year-old has hinted at an MLS move in the future but keeps insisting his immediate future lies at Manchester United.
Schweinsteiger, recently, also claimed he has no issues with Jose Mourinho, and it seems he doesn’t want to create any controversies. The player is on quite high wages at Manchester United so it’s not going to be easy to ship him away.
Debuchy set for another loan spell
Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy could be set for another loan spell. The former Newcastle star spent the second half of the last season on loan at Bordeaux, but his injury concerns don’t seem to stop.
According to L’Equipe, Espanyol are in contacts with Arsenal over the possibility of signing Debuchy on a loan deal. However, there are no guarantees that he could be leaving, as Arsenal might decide to keep him if the offer isn’t too tempting.
Calum Chambers has been sent out on loan to Middlesbrough, and Wenger could decide to keep Debuchy as a backup. The Frenchman has lost his place in the first team to Hector Bellerin, so it’s likely he’d want to head out for regular playing time.
The 31-year-old has made just 12 league appearances since his £12m from Newcastle in 2014, and has another three years left on his contract at the Emirates.
