Manchester City are planning a sensational swoop for Spanish centre back Sergio Ramos according to reports in the British newspaper The Sunday People.
The Spanish giants have refuse to bow to his contract demands and City are eyeing to take advantage of the friction between the player and the club he’s been at since 2005. His current deal is worth around £4.6million a year but the 27-year-old wants parity with the £6.2m Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are paid.
The Spanish star has a release clause of £41m in his contract and City will have to fight off interests from PSG. With Vincent Kompany injured and the defence looking very shaky Manuel Pellegrini is looking to strengthen the heart of the defense unit of the squad in the winter transfer window.
Reports suggest The Citizens are willing to offer £7.2m a year to the ex Sevilla man. Though the transfer sounds unlikely considering Ramos has reiterated his dream of retiring at the Bernabeu it is still possible because of the transfer policy of Los Blancos which has raised eyebrows after they let go of their star assist provider Mesut Ozil for £42.5 m in the summer window.
