Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino wants on a reunion with Manchester United’s Morgan Schneiderlin ahead of tonight’s deadline, according to Daily Mail.
The French midfielder has managed just 7 minutes of football so far under Jose Mourinho, who prefers the likes of Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick in midfield. The report says that Tottenham have asked intermediaries to ‘test the water’ with Manchester United, but the response isn’t encouraging.
Bastian Schweinsteiger has already been asked to leave Manchester United, and that probably means Jose Mourinho might want to keep the Frenchman as a back-up. Manchester United also play in the Europa League, and there will be plenty of games for Schneiderlin to feature in.
Tottenham, however, are prepared to switch to other alternatives and are already in contact with Newcastle over Moussa Sissoko. It’s reported that Pochettino will keep a close eye on Schneiderlin, and might return with an offer in January.

Schneiderlin reportedly doesn’t want to quit Manchester United just yet and is ready to fight for his place in the team. The 26-year-old signed for Manchester United last summer in a £24m from Southampton.
Schneiderlin was a joy to watch under Pochettino at Southampton in the 2013/14 season, and the player could be tempted with a move to Tottenham if things at Manchester United don’t change from now to January.
Samir Nasri set for Sevilla loan spell
Meanwhile, another French star Samir Nasri is on the move and is on the verge of signing for Sevilla. The 29-year-old isn’t in the future plans of Pep Guardiola and has featured for just 15 minutes so far this season.
Nasri was also wanted by Turkish side Besiktas, but it seems Sevilla is his preferred choice. According to L’Equipe, Nasri traveled to Spain on Tuesday evening to complete his medical and other formalities.
Sevilla have agreed to sign the Manchester City star on loan with an option to buy. The delay in the deal was due to both the clubs negotiating his wages, but everything seems to be sorted now.
Sevilla’s sporting director, Monchi, played a crucial role in convincing Nasri to join the La Liga club. The Frenchman signed for Manchester City in 2011 from Arsenal, and has another three years left in his contract at the Etihad.
The former Arsenal star won the Premier League twice at Manchester City, and will now be hoping to win honours with Sevilla in Spain.
