What's the story?
Premier League club Tottenham Hotspurs are set to make a surprising move to Barcelona forward Luis Suarez according to Spanish sports magazine Don Balon
The Uruguayan international could be allowed to leave if the Catalan club lands its top target; Atletico Madrid's French star Antoine Griezmann and Spurs are said to be potential suitors for the player if the report is to be believed.
In case you didn't know...
Luis Suarez plied his trade in the Premier League for a period of three and a half years with Liverpool.
In his final season with the Merseyside club, the 30-year-old scored 31 goals in the league becoming the joint record holder along with former Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo and former Blackburn Rovers star Alan Shearer for the most goals scored in a 38-game Premier League season.
The former Ajax player then forced a move to Barcelona in 2014 for a fee of about £65m and has gone on to score 130 goals in 168 appearances for the Blaugrana.
Barcelona have been heavily linked with Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann and it appears that the French international is the Catalan club's prime target for next summer.
Even though it emerged this week that the Rojiblancos have filed a complaint against Barcelona for illegally approaching their player, the La Liga league table leaders remain confident of landing the 26-year-old
Heart of the matter
With Barcelona expected to bring in Griezmann and Suarez being in bad form and failing to reach the previous heights he has achieved, the Uruguayan could be on his way out of the Spanish club.
The Spanish tabloid has claimed that the Mauricio Pochettino-managed Tottenham are prepared to provide the player a way out of the Camp Nou.
However, the media outlet has also reported that Suarez is not ready to move away from Barcelona and is willing to fight for his place in the side.

Author's take
Don Balon is not the most trustworthy source out there and this rumour could be just the latest in a series of click bait articles from the outlet. Even though Suarez is not on top of his game, it does not seem as if the player wants to leave Barcelona.
The former Liverpool player will stay and fight for his place whether or not Griezmann joins the Blaugrana next summer.
And, if Suarez decides to leave anytime soon, Tottenham is not a likely destination as the North London club won't be willing to pay the fee that will be demanded by Barcelona for the player.
