According to reports in The Metro, Manchester United have been identified with Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta and Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus as “key targets” for transfers.
David Moyes is set to be handed significant funds to spend in January after Man Utd’s financial figures showed a core profit of £22 million.
Moyes is thought to be interested in signing World Cup winner Iniesta and Dortmund’s German mercurial attacker, Reus. The Scottish manager, who took over the reigns at United following Alex Ferguson’s retirement in the summer, is apparently tracking Marek Hamsik of Napoli while still keeping tabs on Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera.
It is unclear as of yet how much money Moyes will be given to spend but it is thought it will be in the region of £50m plus any potential player sales.
Ashley Young, Anderson, Alex Buttner and Tom Cleverley may leave the club in January as Moyes looks to freshen the squad up and stamp his mark on it for a title push post-Christmas.
Last season, Iniesta and Reus created a combined 82 chances between them last season. The Spaniard created 44 to Reus’ 38.
