Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is confident that the club can still win the Premier League title this season despite Arsenal’s excellent start.
Giggs, approaching his 40th birthday, is hoping United can hit top form to regain lost ground in the title race.
The reigning champions are currently on a 10-match unbeaten run since their defeat at home to West Brom, but the run does feature draws against Southampton and Cardiff City when leads were given up late in the game.
United romped to the title last season in Alex Ferguson’s final year but Giggs is hopeful the new man David Moyes can pick up the team’s form and guide the club to another domestic title.
“We’ve got off to a disappointing start,” Giggs told talkSPORT.
“The last 10 or so games we haven’t been too bad, but the game against Cardiff is one we should be winning.
“It’s a crazy season, everyone seems to be beating each other. Only Arsenal have shown consistent form. They are up there and deservedly so.
“But we’ve been in so many title chases, and from our experience we know we’ve just got to hang in there while we are not playing at our brilliant best, and hopefully the form will come at the turn of the year.
“As long as we’re thereabouts in January and get a run together, history shows we will have a great chance of winning the league.”
The veteran hasn’t had a great season so far, contributing to just two created chances in his eight appearances. Giggs is also yet to score in the Premier League.
