Ryan Giggs set to become a manager while still playing!

Manchester United v Wigan Athletic - Premier League

Manchester United legend, Ryan Giggs, will be the first individual to complete the required qualification for Premier League and Champions League managers while still playing, which also suggests that he wishes to one day manage the club.

The Welshman has decided to take the course at the Football Association at St George’s Park instead of the Football Association of Wales. He will further take 240 hours of study to gain the qualification, which includes spending three days at a European club and making a detailed case study of a business.

Giggs considers Sir Alex as his mentor, is expected to complete the course within the next one year and former players, Gary Neville and Paul Ince have also been among the 20 other students embarking on the qualification.

David Gill has said that its very important that Ferguson chooses his own successor and with Pep Guardiola’s decision to take on the manager’s role at Bayern Munich, it removes him as one of the prime candidates. Jose Mourinho, is another prime candidate that United will look for a replacement. But someone who understands and appreciates the philosophy of the club is more likely to take up the role, it is understood.
