Club legend Ryan Giggs has been appointed as the acting coach of Manchester United to see out the remaining matches of the season.
This decision comes after manager David Moyes was sacked on Tuesday morning by Chief Executive Ed Woodward. Giggs will assume responsibilities at Old Trafford until a new permanent manager is appointed in the summer. His former team-mate Phil Neville will assist him.
The appointment of Giggs as a temporary solution was foreseen by many after United board members gave up on David Moyes. With four matches to go, the 40 year old will see out what has been a hugely disappointing campaign for the Red Devils.
Several names have been lined up as possible candidates to take up the managerial job at United with Louis Van Gaal heading the queue.
