SAFF Championship 2013: Dasarath Stadium in poor state ahead of India – Nepal showdown

We are less than 24 hours away from possibly the most anticipated match of SAFF Championship 2013 between defending champions India and hosts Nepal.

Once again the Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu is expected to be fully packed with Nepal enjoying the advantage of a ’12th man’ but on a worrying note, the playing surface looks in a poor state and could even get worse if it rains overnight or in the morning.

This will be the sixth match at this stadium in seven days so if the rains don’t stay away, the quality of football will be further compromised in the semi-finals and final also.
