Indian national team coach Wim Koevermans was “very proud” of his boys after the clinical display against Maldives. “I’m very proud of my boys the manner they played today. This is India and we showed how good we can be,” he maintained at the post-match Press Conference yesterday.
“We were patient and waited for the right moment. But once we got the ball we played football,” Wim added.
“Sometimes you have to look beyond results. There have been matches where the result didn’t go our way despite playing well.”
Speaking about Robin Singh, Wim said, “Robin Singh replaced Sunil Chhetri and he had quite a job at his hand. Robin has certain qualities in him. But he is still learning.”
“Maldives played a different system. Our boys were aggressive. We had to make some tactical changes,” Wim ended.
