Bacary Sagna may be all set to return to the squad just in time to face Gareth Bale in the crucial weekend North London derby match.
Owing to a knee injury, Sagna was not part of the squad the squad that beat Aston Villa 2 – 1. The defender is still doubtful of being fit to play against Tottenham in the weekend.
But the French international, who tweaked the ligaments in the joint, is confident of fully recovering in time to face the in-form Spurs.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger would be more than happy if he could have his first choice right-back in the squad. He will want to keep Gareth Bale, who seems to be in the top of his game, at bay. Bale has scored 8 goals in 6 matches. So if Sagna improves his fitness and makes it back into the squad, he will be in direct opposition to the Spurs left winger.
But Arsenal do have a alternative for Sagna, should he not be fit for the game in the weekend. Carl Jenkinson will be in for the French international for the second successive weekend .
