Salgaocar FC visits Arya Dayanand High School to promote football

I-League side Salgaocar FC, as part of their Community Development initiative, held a seminar on fitness and nutrition for the talented footballers of Arya Dayanand High School, Neura and their parents. Salgaocar FC is focused on promoting football among school students, thereby, providing them a platform to excel.

Sunil Karmalkar, trainer for the Salgaocar FC senior team spoke about the type of diet and rest required in order to become a professional footballer. The principal of Arya Dayanand High School, Neura, Madhav Khyarvi stressed on the importance of sports in today’s life and encouraged the students to take up various sports.

Many of the school students were overjoyed by the presence of Salgaocar FC player Augustine Fernandes, taking autographs and pictures of the robust defender.

After having a talk in Loyola High School, Margao earlier this year, this was Salgaocar FC’s second visit to a school. They are looking to take this programme to many interested schools in the coming months, starting with their home city of Vasco da Gama, Goa.
