Sami Khedira's agent rubbishes link to Arsenal and Chelsea

Jorg Neubauer, the agent of German International Sami Khedira has rubbished claims that his client has been in talks with Arsenal or Chelsea regarding a move to the Premier League.

This comes as bad news for the Gunners after it was widely reported that the Gunners had stolen a march in the pursuit of the Real Madrid midfielder.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Neubauer said “We are not in talks with Arsenal. I don’t think a fee can have been agreed, otherwise I would have been told.

When a club has an interest I am sure they will call me and we will speak about things. The same goes for Chelsea. We are talking to Real Madrid about his contract, but nothing is close to being decided. Sami has just returned from the World Cup and has gone on holiday.”

The Daily Mail had earlier reported that the European champions had agreed to move the German international after a bid of £20-million was accepted. The only reported obstacle was Khedira’s salary demands which were reported to be as high as £180,000-a-week.

However, Real Madrid would certainly look to cash in on the midfielder who has only one year left on his contract.
