Samoa will trade tackles with Fiji in the OFC Nations Cup on Tuesday. Samoa started their tournament with a 2-0 defeat to Tahiti last week. Mateo Degrumelle and Teaonui Tehau scored first-half goals to help their nation claim all three points.

Fiji, meanwhile, comfortably thrashed Papua New Guinea 5-1 in their tournament opener. Thomas Dunn scored a brace while Nabil Begg and Roy Krishna scored either side of Alwin Komolong's own goal in the rout. Tommy Semmy scored a late goal which served as a consolation strike.

Samoa made a losing start to their Nations Cup campaign and will be aiming for their first win. Their defeat to Tahiti left them on the cusp of elimination and another defeat here could see Ryan Stewart's side knocked out of the group stage depending on results elsewhere.

Fiji had a blistering start to the tournament as they blew Papua New Guinea away. They would be seeking to build on that and a second victory would put them on the cusp of progressing to the knockout rounds. They have a 100% winning record in this fixture's history and will be confident of winning a fifth head-to-head game. Furthermore, Fiji are co-hosts which will give them an extra boost.
