Santos has confirmed that they have accepted two bids for the imminent transfer of Neymar via micro-blogging site Twitter.
“The Management Committee of the club decided to negotiate the [sale of the] player. In the face of the offers and the player’s contract, the management committee of the club decided to sell the player,” Santos said in a statement on their website (www.santosfc.com.br).
The Brazilian international, has been linked to a move to Barcelona in the past, while two previous bids by the Spanish giants had been rejected by the Santos FC. Earlier this month Neymar had also made his intentions clear by stating his desire to join Barcelona.
“I will decide with my family. There’s no hurry. My decision can be made in 5 minutes, half an hour, or three days,” the Brazilian starlet said. Neymar’s agent Wagner Ribeiro confirmed that the second offer – which was unnamed for a while – is actually from Spanish rivals Real Madrid.
Santos’ vice-president Odílio Rodrigues said, “The offers are similar, but it’s true Neymar already has had a gentleman’s agreement with Barcelona for a while.”
